We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Construction Senior Project Manager to lead and execute QGS's most complex and strategically significant projects at DOE complexes. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of DOE construction project management experience, to include Design-Build (DB) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. This role requires expert knowledge of construction trades, building regulations, federal compliance, project leadership and strong communication skills. In addition to leading project execution teams, this role will require advising project management staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of project delivery processes across the organization. The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering construction projects on time, within scope, and within budget while ensuring the highest standards of performance, client satisfaction, safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years managing construction projects on Municipal, State and Federal complexes. Specific experience at Department of Energy (DOE) sites with proven success leading high-risk and high-value construction projects.
  • Proven ability to lead PM teams consistently and deliver successful outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of positive communication, safety, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Field trade experience, certifications and trades specific knowledge is a must.
  • Expert knowledge of federal DOE contracting procedures, compliance frameworks, procurement standards (FAR, ), and applicable industry regulations.
  • Advanced proficiency with project management systems, scheduling, cost control, and reporting tools, including Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional team leadership, negotiations, analytical, decision-making, and mentoring skills with a demonstrated commitment to servant leadership, safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Builds strong rapport with clients and trades, connects in relatable, approachable manner across all organizational levels, demonstrates active listening and delivers clear, concise information, maintains transparent, timely feedback to ensure alignment and expectations.
  • Current active or ability to obtain and maintain federal security clearance and satisfy project-specific background check requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Directs and leads QGS's most complex and significant DB/EPC DOE project teams from design to close-out, ensuring alignment with design goals and client expectations in real time.
  • The position requires skills to be a trusted teammate and leader with DOE agencies, clients, subcontractors, consultants, and executive leadership to strengthen partnerships, resolve issues, and drive project success.
  • Provides strategic oversight of project estimating, budgets, forecasts, resource planning, material tracking, and financial performance across project portfolios.
  • Ensures full compliance with DOE contract requirements (e.g., FAR and agency-specific regulations), proactively identifies enterprise-level risks, and implements mitigation strategies that protect project and organizational objectives.
  • Coordinated regularly with corporate and site-specific Quality and Safety Representatives to identify, track, report, and mitigate any potential quality and safety requirements or events.
  • Provides executive oversight of project schedules and critical milestones, ensuring on time delivery while proactively recognizing and resolving complex schedule impacts.
  • Leads, mentors, and develops Project Management staff and cross-functional project teams while building a culture of accountability, integrity, quality, and safety.
  • Provides executive-level project reporting, performance metrics, and strategic updates to clients and senior leadership, ensuring transparency, decision-making, and continuous improvement.
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and mentoring to PM support staff and cross-functional project teams.
  • Supports staff development, workload balancing, and consistent project delivery within multiple projects.
  • Deliver clear, concise information, maintain communication, provide honest feedback to ensure expectations.
  • May need to provide input into performance evaluations, staffing, and succession planning.
