About The Position

As a Construction Project Manager, you'll oversee a team responsible for multiple construction projects for small to medium-sized clients. This job is part of the Construction Management function, which is responsible for ensuring all deliverables of construction projects are completed on time. This role is onsite in San Antonio, TX.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred with 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Experience in staffing, selection, training, development, coaching, mentoring, measuring, appraising, and rewarding performance and retention preferred.
  • Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult information.
  • Ability to convey performance expectations and handle problems.
  • Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced math skills, including the ability to calculate difficult figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensure as either a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect is desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide formal supervision to employees, monitor training and development, conduct performance evaluations and coaching, and oversee recruiting and hiring.
  • Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities, establish work schedules, assign tasks, cross-train staff, and set and track staff and department deadlines.
  • Mentor and coach staff as needed.
  • Conduct periodic site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure work aligns with approved drawings and specifications.
  • Prepare construction risk assessments and project status reports.
  • Recommend the release of construction funds and adjust project resource needs and disbursement schedules.
  • Review agreements and other submitted documents to ensure timelines are met.
  • Develop communication practices for stakeholders.
  • Identify and resolve project risks or issues.
  • Lead by example and model behaviors consistent with CBRE RISE values.
  • Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
  • Apply knowledge of own discipline and its integration with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex issues that may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.
