About The Position

Turner & Townsend Heery is seeking a Sr. Project Manager/ Construction Manager to join our team on a full-time basis in Los Angeles. The Senior Project Manager / Construction Manager will serve as the lead representative of the owner for a landmark $230M seismic strengthening project of a 52 high-rise in downtown Los Angeles. This full-time role is embedded with the Client's Delivery Team and will be central to overseeing all phases of the project using the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR) delivery method.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, engineering, or construction management.
  • Minimum 15 years’ experience as a project/construction manager, with proven success leading $100M+ high-rise or seismic retrofit projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in CMAR delivery and leading consultant teams.
  • Expertise in negotiating contracts and managing change orders.
  • Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, regulations, and compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 plus years of Public Sector Experience.
  • California Licensed Architect, PE, or CCM certification.
  • DBIA certification.
  • Experience managing Los Angeles County capital projects.
  • Familiarity with sustainable building practices and LEED certification.
  • Advanced degree in a related field (e.g., MBA, MS in Construction Management).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate pre-construction and construction efforts for phased seismic upgrades of an occupied high-rise steel-frame building.
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team including consultants, A/E firms, and the CMAR.
  • Oversee schedule, budget, quality assurance, safety, and code compliance efforts.
  • Implement County project management procedures and prepare official communications.
  • Support environmental documentation (CEQA/NEPA), constructability reviews, GMP development, and field inspections.
  • Ensure effective stakeholder communication and engagement throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings and provide detailed progress reports to senior management.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential project challenges.
  • Foster a collaborative and productive work environment among all project team members.
