About The Position

The Development/Construction Senior Project Manager will act as the Owner’s Representative and be responsible for overall development including management of design, construction, contracts, budgets, FF&E, warranty management. The senior project manager will provide technical direction and ensure compliance with quality standards. The senior project manager’s responsibilities span a broad spectrum, covering all areas of project management such as Project Planning, Cost Management, Schedule Management, Design Management, Quality Management and Safety Management. This role is based onsite in New Orleans, Louisiana to oversee the development of a 1,000 Key Ground Up Convention Hotel.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in construction management; Preferably hotel and/or commercial construction
  • College Degree required; Degree in a construction related discipline preferred
  • Experience leading project teams
  • Working understanding of construction documents including Submittits, RFIs, Drawings, and Specifications.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products
  • Excellent communication, organizational, presentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Cost Management and Financial skills/background.
  • Strong Communication Skills, as this position will be the face for the Omni New Orleans Convention Center Hotel in New Orleans for the next 3-4 years.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to use Microsoft Project scheduling software or software of industry equivalence preferred

Responsibilities

  • Successfully oversee the Omni New Orleans Hotel project from start to finish (Construction duration 38 months)
  • Manage all phases of construction from groundbreaking to hotel opening.
  • Manage project budgets, financial forecasts, change management, and schedules.
  • Manage contracts with Design Team, Contractor, and Owner Direct Vendors.
  • Communication and coordination with design teams, contractors, in-house IT, procurement, engineers, interior designers and hotel operators.
  • Monitoring of construction activities, ensuring quality expectations and construction schedule are being met.
  • Regular project status, schedule, financial, and risk reporting.
  • Management of FF&E and OS&E.
  • Responsible for managing direct reports, likely an Assistant PM and others.
