Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
• 7+ years of experience in multifamily, mixed-use, and commercial Land Development in Miami-Dade County including design, project management, business development and invoicing.

Responsibilities

• Act as the go-to authority for report writing, civil engineering design, including drainage, grading, utilities, and comprehensive due diligence/site analysis reports.
• Develop permitting strategies and lead permitting and agency coordination efforts throughout Miami-Dade County. Maintain strong working knowledge of local civil engineering permitting requirements and agency review process including Miami-Dade WASD, DERM, Engineering, Transpiration and Public Works Departments at the County and Municipal level.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, ICPR, and other design tools to review and complete assignments efficiently, adhering to Atwell's high standards.
• Guide and support junior staff with technical queries related to Land Development projects, fostering their professional growth.
• Oversee QA/QC processes to ensure all project deliverables meet rigorous quality and engineering standards.
• Ensure full compliance with engineering standards and agency requirements. Analyze project survey data and site conditions, including legal descriptions, ALTA Surveys, and easement documents. Coordinate civil engineering design with multi-disciplinary external consultant teams.
• Make necessary edits and modifications to plans as required by agencies, municipalities, and clients.
• Coordinate with project team to track workflow status and meet chargeability goals. Serve as the primary point of contact for the project design team throughout project delivery. Build and maintain strong relationships with developers, architects, contractors, attorneys and public agency representatives.
• Support the team in achieving financial objectives and project success.
