About The Position

Join Psomas' growing Civil Engineering Team in Glen Ellyn, Illinois, as a Senior Project Manager where you will have the opportunity to lead meaningful site development and public works projects, build trusted client relationships, and help shape the continued growth of our northern Illinois practice. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who enjoys blending project delivery, team mentorship, and business development while working across a diverse portfolio of educational, municipal, public agency, and development projects. Requirements

  • Active Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • 10+ years of relevant civil engineering experience
  • 1+ years demonstrated experience leading projects, teams, and developing and maintaining client relationships
  • Experience working with Illinois based development companies, educational institutions, public agencies, and municipalities

Responsibilities

  • Lead multiple site development and civil infrastructure projects from planning through construction; managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and client expectations while coordinating with agencies and external/internal teams.
  • Mentor and develop engineers and technical staff while fostering a collaborative, inclusive team environment that supports professional growth.
  • Support and collaborate with the regional manager and team lead with staffing, office related managerial tasks, and workload projections.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and serve as a trusted partner to development and municipal clients, navigating Illinois agency coordination, permitting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the development of proposals in response to Requests for Qualifications/Proposals (RFQs/RFPs), support grant funding applications, and participate in presentations/workshops/interviews. Throughout all aspects of business development, you will collaborate closely with leadership and marketing.
