Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, Building Automation and Operations and within a highly collaborative and skilled team at the University of Toronto, the Senior Project Manager will lead the implementation of a next-generation digital platform that unifies building automation, energy analytics, and district energy optimization across a large and technically diverse campus environment. This role sits at the intersection of building automation systems, enterprise data platforms, and advanced energy management. The Senior Project Manager will lead all automation technology projects from conceptual analysis and procurement through implementation and project close phases, tracking resources and project budgets, and providing strong project management expertise to achieve the campus’ strategic goals in service and operational excellence and decarbonization. Working closely with engineers, operators, analysts, and vendors, this role will lead the delivery of a new Intelligent Building Management System (IBMS) that integrates multiple vendor systems, forming the backbone of a campus-wide smart infrastructure, as well as Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD), an Energy Management Information System (EMIS), and district asset dispatch optimization to improve reliability, occupant comfort, and decarbonization outcomes. This is a rare opportunity for a technically fluent project leader who understands BAS protocols, interoperability, and data-driven operations—and who thrives managing complex, multi-vendor technology ecosystems.
