Our Boston office is seeking an Alternative Delivery Project Manager to lead the delivery of complex infrastructure programs using Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, and CMAR procurements. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted advisor to clients, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive project success from procurement through design and construction. This position offers the opportunity to deliver some of New England's most significant infrastructure projects while helping expand Mott MacDonald's Alternative Delivery practice and grow client relationships across the region.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or a related technical discipline.
  • 10 - 15 years of progressively responsible experience delivering complex engineering, infrastructure, construction or capital programs.
  • Demonstrated success leading projects utilizing alternative delivery methods, including Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, and/or Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR).
  • Experience leading collaborative project delivery environments and fostering integrated owner, designer, and contractor teams to achieve program objectives.
  • Strong understanding of alternative delivery procurement, commercial management, project controls, risk management, contract administration, and project execution.
  • Experience developing and managing project budgets, schedules, staffing plans, and performance metrics for large infrastructure projects and programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to identify risks, develop solutions, and drive successful project outcomes.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills, with the ability to effectively engage clients, contractors, executive leadership, and technical teams.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting business development activities, including client engagement, capture planning, proposal development, and interviews.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE), Design-Build Institute of America (DBIA), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), or equivalent professional credentials are preferred.
  • Established relationships with public and private sector clients within New England transportation, transit, water, wastewater, aviation and infrastructure markets are preferred.
  • Experience with transportation, transit, bridge, tunnel, water, or other major infrastructure programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex infrastructure projects using alternative delivery methods, including Design-Build, Progressive Design-Build, and CMAR.
  • Advise clients on project delivery strategies and procurement approaches.
  • Develop and support procurement packages, contract documents, delivery method analyses, and related technical documentation.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through project delivery.
  • Establish and manage project scope, budgets, schedules, deliverables, risks, and resources.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
  • Lead workshops, project meetings, and stakeholder presentations to support informed decision-making and successful project outcomes.
  • Manage project quality, compliance, controls, contracts, and execution.
  • Collaborate with internal leadership and technical specialists to optimize project performance and achieve client objectives.
  • Lead or support strategic pursuits and capture activities, including positioning, proposal development, interviews, and negotiations for alternative delivery opportunities.
  • Serve as Project Manager, Owner’s Project Manager on important alternative delivery projects and programs.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients to support continued growth of the practice.
  • Maintain and strengthen client relationships to support repeat business, long-term partnerships, and successful project delivery.
