This role will be instrumental in growing the consulting practice in the Operational Technology and Real-Time Systems domain, specifically focusing on the implementation and delivery of an Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) within a client's territory. The Senior Project Manager will work closely with the client, vendors, and project personnel, overseeing all aspects of the project lifecycle, including team management, resource allocation, vendor engagement, and schedule development. Strong judgment, leadership, organization, and communication skills are essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of Project Management experience in the utility domain.
  • Previous experience leading and managing large-scale, multifaceted enterprise-wide Operational Technologies Projects in an electric or gas utility environment.
  • Fully knowledgeable and proficient in all aspects of the Project Management Body of Knowledge.
  • Excellent organizational, decision-making, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills ranging from addressing C-Level to multiple technical teams.
  • Ability to self-direct and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent team-building and motivational skills.
  • Excellent budgeting and financial skills.
  • Proficiency with MS-Project and MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Strong judgment, leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% or on an as-needed basis to the client location.
  • Previous experience implementing large ADMS programs, preferably on the technology vendor side.
  • PMP Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver project(s) to completion, owning the scope, cost, schedule, and risks.
  • Manage multiple tracks, business and technical resources, consultants, and vendors.
  • Develop contractual Statement of Works with clients and suppliers, articulating precise assumptions and limits of responsibility.
  • Strategize and implement methodologies to increase project margins.
  • Manage the entire project team, assigning work, monitoring outputs, and escalating resource gaps.
  • Act as TRC's representative, ensuring alignment between client and TRC interests for project success.
  • Manage vendors, ensuring contractual, operational, and relationship aspects are aligned for project success.
  • Foster a positive project work environment and lead the team to achieve project objectives on time and within budget.
  • Develop workflow plans for the project lifecycle, from initial request through systems analysis, technical design, implementation, procurement, testing, turnover to production, and client migration.
  • Plan, prepare, and track project schedules and budgets to ensure controlled completion of each project step.
  • Prepare and maintain a risk assessment and mitigation action plan.
  • Maintain resource forecasts to ensure schedule compliance and desired results.
  • Update company and external stakeholders on project progress, changes from original plans, and existing or emerging risks.
  • Lead project core team meetings.
  • Present project progress at Steering Committee level with senior executives from TRC or the client.
