About The Position

This is an exciting onsite opportunity within Abbott Diabetes Care (ADC), where we are transforming diabetes management through innovative technologies that empower people to make more informed health decisions. Our groundbreaking glucose sensing technology is redefining how individuals monitor and manage their glucose levels, helping improve health outcomes worldwide. ADC is seeking a Senior Project Leader based in Alameda, CA to lead the strategy, planning, and execution of key digital health initiatives. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams to assess opportunities, prioritize investments, and drive the successful delivery of innovative products and programs. You will be responsible for leading complex, business-critical initiatives from concept through commercialization, ensuring effective stakeholder alignment, execution excellence, and achievement of strategic objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience leading product development, program management, or strategic initiatives within the medical device, digital health, or healthcare industry.
• Proven track record of successfully leading complex, cross-functional programs from concept through launch, preferably involving digital products.
• Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build alignment and resolve conflict across functions, organizations, and external partners.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, including the ability to create compelling presentations and effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources, balance competing priorities, and drive resolution of complex cross-functional issues.
• Strategic thinker with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive results.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy, prioritization, and delivery of complex digital health initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives and consumer needs.
• Manage, mentor, and develop Project Leaders, fostering a high-performing organization while providing leadership across cross-functional and matrixed teams.
• Define and maintain program roadmaps, business cases, scope, schedules, budgets, and release strategies.
• Drive portfolio prioritization and strategic decision-making, balancing business value, resource constraints, dependencies, and timelines.
• Partner with stakeholders across R&D, Commercial, Clinical, Regulatory, Quality, Manufacturing, and other functions to ensure successful program delivery.
• Establish clear program objectives, success metrics, and KPIs, and hold teams accountable for results.
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks, issues, and dependencies while driving timely resolution of complex cross-functional challenges.
• Lead product launches, market introductions, and geographic expansion efforts, ensuring readiness and execution excellence.
• Evaluate and approve significant changes to program scope, budget, timeline, and resource allocation.
• Influence and align senior leaders and stakeholders by translating ambiguity into clear strategies, priorities, and actionable plans.
• Develop compelling executive presentations and communications, leveraging strong storytelling skills to effectively convey program status, business impact, risks, tradeoffs, and recommendations.
• Present complex information clearly and effectively, enabling informed decision-making and organizational alignment.
• Champion PMO best practices, change management, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning, execution, and delivery performance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and vendors to ensure successful business outcomes.
