The Senior Project Estimator will support the Estimating Manager in the development of estimates from inception through completion. This role involves supporting estimators in creating achievable estimate plans, coordinating the consolidation of estimate components, and preparing proposal cost volumes and bid forms. The position requires reviewing estimates for quality and integrity, supporting the preparation of basis and assumption documentation, and ensuring lessons learned are incorporated. The Senior Project Estimator will also review scoping documents, design, or Request for Proposal (RFP) scope criteria, and quantities for completeness and reasonableness, coordinating with the project team to develop additional estimating basis when information is incomplete. They will help establish and review conceptual scopes of estimates and studies, support bid evaluation of cost and schedule criteria, and prepare bid evaluations, potentially participating in discussions with vendors. Additionally, this role involves preparing non-manual, distributable, or contractors' indirect cost estimates, developing bases for temporary facilities, miscellaneous construction services, construction tools and equipment, non-manual staffing, startup services, payroll taxes and insurance, camp facilities and operation, and other field costs. The Senior Project Estimator will assist in presenting the estimate's management review package, schedule internal and external reviews, perform and review escalation calculations for complex jobs, identify ways to mitigate risk, and assess uncertainties associated with productivity, material pricing, wage rates, and quantity variation. They will also support the development of estimating standards and procedures, develop and present training in areas of expertise, perform analysis on received commercial data, prepare cost studies utilizing historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons, and develop new techniques as required. The role includes analyzing cost/price data from suppliers/subcontractors, cost processors, engineering progress and performance, and quantity installation progress and performance, generating comparative data as part of the cost/price analysis, and tracking estimate status from initial request through project execution.
