About The Position

Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, the Senior Project Engineer will coordinate and execute construction projects within the organization. This role involves daily collaboration with the EPCM firm, serving as the primary contact for third-party service providers. Additionally, the position includes evaluating and assisting in supervising plant operations once construction is complete. After the plant becomes operational, the role will transition to attending daily operations meetings, planning and executing preventative maintenance, reviewing plant data, and preparing future engineering studies for expansion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Process Engineering
  • Registered (or the ability to register) Professional Engineer in the state of Nevada
  • A minimum of 7 years of project engineering and project management experience, ideally in metallurgical processing projects
  • Strong background in construction safety management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Project and other project related software

Responsibilities

  • Executes site searches for future projects and evaluates site viability for project needs
  • Manages permitting and construction of a pilot plant facility
  • Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements
  • Executes project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans and conferring with management
  • Determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements, assigning personnel to phases and elements, and reviewing bids from contractors
  • Completes technical studies and prepares cost estimates
  • Confirms product performance by designing and conducting tests
  • Determines project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems
  • Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan, scheduling changes, and recommending actions
  • Controls project costs by analyzing quotes and timesheets and provides guidance to the management and contracts team
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Maintains company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations
  • Works with the Operational Readiness team to ensure a safe hand off to operations
  • Attend daily operations meetings (once operational)
