About The Position

The Senior Project Engineer position reports to the Team Leader (TL) and is responsible for investigation and remediation projects under our expanding Environmental practice in Daly City, California. EKI Environment & Water, Inc. (EKI) is an employee-owned, full service, engineering and environmental sciences consulting firm serving private- and public-sector clients throughout the United States. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • Minimum of ten to fifteen (10 – 15) years of experience
  • Must have Professional Engineer license in the State of California or be able to obtain license following employment
  • Must be able to review and edit technical reports to meet scope and quality objectives, as well as client expectations
  • Must have skills in quality control, planning, cost estimating, and scheduling
  • Must be able to assign and manage work
  • Must have effective mentoring skills
  • Must have effective communication skills both oral and written, including ability to communicate and coordinate effectively with clients, technicians, designers, engineers, owners, and other project managers for the preparation of high-quality work products
  • Must have a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Must be able to develop strong relationships with clients and potential clients to position EKI to win work from these contacts
  • Must have ability to multi-task, stay organized, work independently, and collaborate with various project teams
  • Must have a strong desire to grow personally as well as professionally
  • Must have a great attitude and eager to learn
  • Must have a current valid driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • OSHA HAZWOPER training preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key member of the Environmental practice with the ability to step in and immediately manage various environmental projects
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables and review and analyze data throughout the project cycle
  • Work with internal and external team members to produce successful projects
  • Assemble and manage multi-disciplinary project teams and provide technical guidance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients
  • Develop business with new and existing clients
  • Coordinate with client representatives, regulatory and external stakeholders, and technical subconsultants
  • Execute projects to meet technical, quality, budgetary, and scheduling requirements
  • Participate in proposal preparation, client interviews, and contract negotiations
  • Participate in professional associations, including presenting technical papers or participating as a technical committee member
  • Engage in business development and related activities to foster new business opportunities
  • Provide technical, professional, and business development mentorship to early career staff
  • Other duties as required
