About The Position

T1 Construction LLC is seeking a Senior Project Engineer for their Colorado Springs, CO, USA location. This role involves managing the development and implementation of project-specific Quality Control plans, overseeing various project documentation, financial reporting, team development, and ensuring compliance with safety and contractual requirements. The Senior Project Engineer will also support procurement activities and may require domestic travel up to 10% of the time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, Engineering Management, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
  • 3 years of experience as a project engineer.
  • 3 years managing construction engineering projects including project planning and scheduling, leading a team, budgeting, and risk management.
  • 2 years working with Federal government contracts (Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR)).
  • Bachelor's coursework must include engineering fundamental classes, core engineering courses, and mechanical engineering courses.
  • All education, experience, and training may be gained concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development and implementation of project-specific Quality Control plans.
  • Maintain and update project deficiency, discrepancy, and punch lists.
  • Oversee material deliveries to confirm alignment with approved submittals.
  • Manage testing schedules and results.
  • Facilitate Building Information Modeling implementation, including leading meetings.
  • Oversee quality assurance.
  • Develop, maintain, and distribute the Critical Path Method schedule.
  • Create and manage submittal logs to ensure timely material delivery.
  • Support the development of milestone schedules.
  • Prepare and assist with financial reporting and margin analysis, cost estimates, and budgets.
  • Prepare and present change estimates and work timetables.
  • Handle subcontractor and vendor invoicing as well as progress billings.
  • Draft and track purchase orders, change orders, and certified payroll documentation.
  • Foster staff development and mentoring by building strong mentor relationships, recruiting new team members, and conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Set goals for direct reports, promote a positive work environment, and hold team members accountable.
  • Interpret and explain contracts and technical information to direct reports.
  • Oversee insurance and bonding compliance prior to the Pre-Construction Conference.
  • Manage contract execution.
  • Oversee timely project close-out.
  • Set and enforce deadlines for pricing requests and deliverables to mitigate potential risks.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, Tribal One, and client safety requirements.
  • Participate in safety orientations, inspections, training, and support accident prevention planning and site safety accountability.
  • Communicate effectively with architects, engineers, and other construction specialists, ensuring prompt responses to inquiries and delivering work on schedule with professionalism.
  • Assist with procurement by identifying new opportunities, supporting pre-bid activities, building relationships with subcontractors, and assisting with the development of bids and proposals.
