About The Position

Net Power is an energy technology and project development company focused on the development of natural gas power generation projects to meet growing demand for reliable power. Our near-term development activities are focused on delivering natural gas power generation, with equipment designed to accommodate carbon capture in later phases. Our vision is to make natural gas the lowest cost form of clean firm power. Our impact is transformational - Headquartered in Houston, Texas, we aspire to improve the communities where we work and we’re committed to pioneering advancements that redefine the energy landscape, ensuring a better future for generations to come. Job Overview Net Power is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the development, engineering, and execution of complex power generation projects. This role will serve as a critical technical and project execution interface across engineering disciplines, project management, commercial teams, equipment suppliers, EPC contractors, and project partners. The ideal candidate will have significant experience developing and executing utility-scale generation projects and has worked directly for an Independent Power Producer (IPP). This IPP experience is essential: we are looking for someone who understands how an owner evaluates, develops, contracts, finances, engineers, constructs, commissions, and ultimately operates a power generation asset—not simply how an individual engineering discipline performs its scope. The Senior Project Engineer will help translate Net Power’s technology and project requirements into executable plant designs and will play an important role in ensuring projects are technically sound, commercially practical, constructible, operable, and delivered in accordance with project objectives. This role is based on-site in Houston, TX. Net Power offers a hybrid work schedule, 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. Travel to the project site will be required; frequency will depend on project phase (heavier during construction).
