About The Position

Lead the design, integration, and delivery of Conventional Island mechanical systems for the Monark-D Program, excluding the turbine-generator package. Act as the technical authority for steam cycle systems, feedwater and condensate systems, condensers, heat exchangers, auxiliary mechanical equipment, piping systems, and plant thermal performance, ensuring alignment across engineering disciplines, suppliers, utilities, construction, and commissioning teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • P.Eng. designation required
  • 10+ years of engineering experience
  • Previous experience in power generation or nuclear projects
  • Proven experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams within EPC, utility, OEM, or large industrial organizations
  • Strong expertise in steam cycles, thermal performance analysis, and plant heat balances
  • Strong expertise in condensers, feedwater systems, feedwater heaters, and heat exchangers
  • Strong expertise in power piping, auxiliary steam systems, and Balance of Plant mechanical systems
  • Strong expertise in steam cycle optimization, efficiency improvements, and power uprate studies
  • Strong expertise in mechanical equipment integration, supplier management, and technical bid evaluations
  • Strong expertise in construction support, commissioning, startup, performance testing, and operational readiness
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex technical interfaces and deliver engineering solutions that support plant performance, schedule, cost, and risk objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Conventional Island mechanical engineering strategy, design requirements, technical reviews, and execution planning.
  • Oversee the integration and delivery of steam cycle systems including feedwater, condensate, heater drains, steam extraction, and moisture separator reheaters.
  • Oversee the integration and delivery of condensers, vacuum systems, air removal systems, and cooling water interfaces.
  • Oversee the integration and delivery of mechanical equipment such as heat exchangers, pumps, tanks, pressure vessels, filters, strainers, and auxiliary packages.
  • Oversee the integration and delivery of power, feedwater, condensate, steam, utility, and support piping systems.
  • Support plant heat balance development, thermal cycle optimization, equipment sizing, efficiency improvements, and power output targets.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface for OEMs, equipment suppliers, consultants, and Balance of Plant vendors.
  • Coordinate engineering interfaces with rotating equipment, electrical, civil/structural, I&C, nuclear island, procurement, construction, and commissioning teams.
  • Support utility engagement, design reviews, procurement activities, construction, commissioning, startup, and performance testing.
