Senior Project Engineer - Electrical (Data Centres)
About The Position
As a Senior Project Electrical Design Engineer at Ethos Engineering, you will work within the Data Centre sector. You will have a thorough grasp of electrical design and engineering techniques, with confidence in working independently and in support of the team, ensuring successful completion of designs to meet construction timelines and requirements. Your day-to-day activities will include leading the Electrical Services design for a range of projects, designing and specifying electrical services for various types of buildings and sectors, producing detailed schematics, developing electrical design standards within the organisation, mentoring junior engineering staff, providing fully detailed tender packages and monitoring installation/quality on site until project completion, tender report/analysis/recommendations, developing project scope with the design team/client, confidently using Microsoft Office, Autocad, Dialux, Amtech, and REVIT, producing budgets and reports for clients, attending site visits, and taking the lead on projects with minimal input from the management team.
Requirements
- Honours Degree
- 10+ years as a Senior Engineer
- Must have electrical building services design experience within Data Centre engineering projects
- In-depth knowledge of electrical design and engineering techniques
- Deep knowledge of ETCI, CIBSE, IEC, BS, IS and EN Standards
- Communicative and able to liaise with clients, architects, and project managers
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills
Nice To Haves
- Chartered an advantage but not essential
- Working knowledge of Autocad, Dialux, Amtech, and REVIT an advantage
- Confident leading projects from the concept stage to completion
Responsibilities
- Manage the specification and design of Electrical Building Services systems for a range of projects
- Lead the Electrical Services design for a range of projects
- Design and specification of electrical services for various types of buildings and sectors
- Produce detailed schematics
- Develop the electrical design standards within the organisation
- Mentor junior engineering staff
- Provide fully detailed tender packages and monitor installation/quality on site until project completion
- Tender report/analysis/recommendations
- Develop project scope with the design team/client
- Confidently use Microsoft Office, Autocad, Dialux, Amtech, and REVIT
