About The Position

As a Senior Project Designer, you will be responsible for leading all phases of the design process with a high level of proficiency and expertise while adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design, execution, and living design. You will initiate and create schematic designs that optimize design solutions and plans with responsibility for presentation drawings, models, and narratives. You will promote and manage overall project goals and constraints, including client values, construction, and design budget limitations, and schedule requirements. You will evaluate design alternatives based on site and code requirements. You will expertly apply knowledge of building technology, building materials, construction methods, costs, and code to the design process. You will identify and respond to technical implications and design decisions. You will prepare client presentation packages, external publications, and award submissions. You will play an essential role in marketing opportunities and develop successful client relationships for continuing business. You will use graphic storytelling to advance the project delivery and scope. You will review work for accuracy, omissions, legibility, and for document compliance in accordance with the Project Delivery Manual. You will lead collaborative teams in internal design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups and external community engagements. You will demonstrate strong and effective communication and direction which inspires high team performance and design ideas. You will mentor staff. You will be accountable for effective coordination with partners and consultants throughout the schematic and design development phases.

Requirements

  • A professional degree in Architecture, Design, or related discipline
  • 10-15+ years of experience
  • Advanced knowledge of 2D/3D production software (Rhino and Grasshopper)
  • Revit required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative and professional work ethic
  • LEED AP or within 6 months of hire
  • Licensure or interest in completing your ARE or NCIDQ exams
