About The Position

The Senior Project Controls Manager leads cost and schedule controls for a data center construction project, overseeing budget tracking, forecasting, change management, and earned value reporting across the full project lifecycle. This role works directly with the project manager and construction manager to identify cost and schedule risk early and supervises the junior project controls manager and scheduling staff assigned to the project. This is a field-based position supporting construction projects in North Louisiana, Virginia, and Corpus Christi, Texas. Project assignments and reporting locations will vary based on operational needs. Travel and/or temporary relocation may be required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of project controls experience on commercial or industrial construction projects, including cost engineering and forecasting.
  • Strong working knowledge of earned value management and cost/schedule integration.
  • Proficiency with cost control software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience supervising project controls staff.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience on a data center or other mission-critical construction project.
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 for cost-loaded schedule review.
  • Professional certification such as Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP).

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the project cost control system, including budget codes, commitment tracking, and forecast-to-complete reporting.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports and earned value analyses for the project executive team and owner.
  • Lead the change management process, including cost impact analysis, negotiation support, and change order log maintenance.
  • Coordinate with the scheduling team to align cost reporting with schedule progress and identify variances requiring corrective action.
  • Supervise the junior project controls manager, reviewing cost inputs, reports, and forecasts for accuracy.
  • Support risk management activities, including contingency tracking and identification of cost exposure on long-lead procurement items.
  • Present cost and schedule status at monthly owner and executive review meetings.
  • Maintain historical cost data and lessons learned for use on future project bids and estimates.
