Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit or grant-funded environments.
  • Significant experience with fund accounting and multi-source grant funding.
  • Experience with enterprise accounting systems; Workday Financial Management preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce.
  • Advanced analytical and financial problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and business partnering abilities.
  • Ability to interpret complex funding requirements and translate them into operational guidance.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple funding streams and reporting deadlines.
  • High integrity and professional judgment.

Nice To Haves

  • Workday Financial Management preferred.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review funder billings to ensure accuracy and compliance with grant agreements and Uniform Guidance requirements.
  • Monitor grant expenditures and project cash flow to ensure compliance with funding restrictions and organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with Program Managers to analyze financial performance and conduct detailed budget-to-actual analysis for grants and projects.
  • Review and approve multi-funded transactions across restricted and unrestricted funding sources and recommend appropriate accounting treatment.
  • Prepare and review journal entries related to grant reallocations, reconciliations, and funding adjustments.
  • Analyze financial activity and ensure proper allocation of costs across multiple funding sources.
  • Generate and review financial reports for internal leadership and external funders.
  • Assist with preparation of documentation for annual financial audits, grant audits, and compliance reviews.
  • Provide guidance and training to program staff on grant financial management and compliance requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve grant accounting processes and financial reporting workflows.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with program teams, funders, and internal finance staff.
  • Participate in ad-hoc analyses, special projects, and process improvement initiatives.
