About The Position

Turner & Townsend is looking for a Senior Risk Manager to join their growing team. The ideal individual will be an experienced risk professional that has supported large scale construction projects. The role involves developing and implementing risk management strategies, conducting various risk assessments, analyzing project schedules, performing root cause analysis, and maintaining program-wide risk governance. The position requires a proactive approach to risk management services, end-to-end project risk management practices, and the creation of risk management plans in adherence to client requirements. Integration of the risk management function within program and project controls, including cost and schedule management, change control, and reporting, is essential. The role also involves creating value stream mapping to identify and minimize waste, and may include SOX control responsibilities.

Requirements

  • College Degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture.
  • Experience and working in Project Management on large-scale construction programs.
  • Experienced in Design/Architecture/Civil works.
  • Solid working proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent presentation skills and the ability to be highly effective in a client facing role.
  • Team player; ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), risk frameworks, templates, and best practices to drive consistency and efficiency across the program.
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative risk assessments, including Monte Carlo simulations, Cost Risk Assessments (CRA), and Schedule Risk Assessments (SRA) to support contingency planning and schedule confidence analysis.
  • Analyze project schedules to identify key schedule drivers, critical path risks, schedule uncertainty, and opportunities for schedule improvement.
  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on significant risk events, schedule impacts, and recurring program issues, identifying corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support the establishment and maintenance of program-wide risk governance, ensuring consistency of risk processes, reporting, and controls across multiple projects.
  • Maintain visibility of threat/opportunity trigger points to facilitate risk cost profiling, timely drawdown of risk budget or retirement of threat/opportunity.
  • Monitor overall risk exposure and assess the remaining risk budget.
  • Lead full risk workshop at construction kickoff ensuring integration with general contractor and client team.
  • Facilitate risk identification workshops with cross-functional stakeholders, e.g., contractor, engineering, construction, commissioning, procurement, project controls.
  • Maintain the project risk register, ensuring risks are categorized, scored (likelihood x impact), and updated regularly.
  • Initiate a proactive approach to the review, development and improvement of risk management services for the client.
  • Undertake end-to-end project risk management practices on multiple projects/programs.
  • Undertake the creation of risk management plans and processes in adherence to client requirements, processes, policies, and frameworks.
  • Conduct risk reviews at regular intervals, identify and analyze, determine response plans, ensure that project and program risk profiles are being monitored and reported.
  • Track mitigation actions, assign owners, and monitor progress through to closure.
  • Establish integration of the risk management function within the program and project controls team, with direct touch points to cost and schedule management, change control, and reporting.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with program and project control teams to eliminate redundancies and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Create value stream mapping to quantify pain points and develop solutions to minimize waste (both in terms of speed and cost).
  • SOX control responsibilities may be part of this role, which are to be adhered to where applicable.
