The work location for this position is Dahlgren, Virginia, where we have provided support to the customer for over 50 years! Amentum is seeking a Senior Program Manager with engineering, scientific, business or technical discipline and/or equivalent experience to support software system engineering efforts in support of Naval projects at Dahlgren, VA. You will be part of our growing systems & software engineering team and contribute to our diverse skillsets across multiple software and systems engineering contracts in support of our Software Center of Excellence. We are looking for individuals to join our team atmosphere that are eager to make a difference by solving complex Digital Engineering challenges. Apply your skills to the latest DoW weapons and sensor systems, modernizing the Navy and contributing to mission success. Successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills and interact directly with customers and engineering personnel.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, business or technical discipline.
- 15 years of experience
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to drive on and off base.
- 10 years of demonstrated management experience or project level management in DoW major systems.
- 5 years of program acquisition Life-Cycle process experience as addressed in the DoD 5000 series instructions.
- 5 years of experience as the primary point of contact for project tasking.
- 5 years of experience as a program manager leading a team of skilled professional, technical, and support personnel.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with Software Life-Cycle processes such as Agile and Waterfall, development environments, and service-based contracts.
Responsibilities
- Formulating, guiding, and directing the technical approach.
- Defining and negotiating with field activities and program office personnel for necessary resources.
- Establishing and controlling technical milestones, schedules, and costs for day-to-day execution.
- Leading a team of skilled professional, technical, and support personnel.
