About The Position

The Global Fleet and Products (GFP) Middle Mile Fleet team is seeking an experienced, driven, analytical, and creative Senior Program Manager to execute on GFP's fleet goals. This role operates within a start-up culture, emphasizing speed, efficiency, and adaptability. The ideal candidate will drive new programs to position Amazon as a leader in sustainable transportation. The role requires the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, manage ambiguity and competing priorities, and successfully deliver high-level strategic initiatives while also being hands-on. The candidate must be adept at breaking down complex projects, developing functional specifications, and ensuring timely delivery. Maturity, strong judgment, negotiation skills, influence, analytical ability, and leadership are crucial for success.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • Experience communicating with VP-level decision makers
  • Experience communicating expectations and requirements with business and technology teams through written proposals

  • Experience in high-level negotiations, strategic partnerships, and contract management
  • Experience in Automotive or Fleet Management Leadership roles
  • Ability to independently establish OEM relationships and gather benchmarking data to make data-driven product decisions

Responsibilities

  • Own variable fleet strategy for North America Middle Mile power units, including operation plan, budget, rental vehicle specification, rental process, contracts, procurement, delivery and disposition
  • Negotiate and manage third-party rental partnerships to secure adequate capacity during peak and year-round operations
  • Own financial analysis and budget tracking for variable fleet programs, making data-driven decisions to optimize costs
  • Develop strategies to improve fleet utilization, increase acceptance rates with programs, and balance supply constraints with operational demands
  • Serve as escalation point for rental vehicles, demonstrating strong communication skills and knowing when to escalate appropriately
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast capacity needs and implement process improvements that drive operational excellence
  • Serve as the Single Threaded Leader for all power unit safety incidents and establish standard work for future
