The Eastern and Central Regions include 36 states - all states east of the Mississippi River as well as ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, LA, AK, MO, IA, MN. CSH is seeking a results-oriented individual committed to sharing their talent to support a mission-driven organization that leads efforts to expand housing and service solutions for highly impacted populations. CSH is seeking a highly skilled, experienced professional that has deep knowledge in supportive housing development or operations. This position is a regional consultant position that will entail developing new opportunities and working with teams across the country. Applicants must live in or relocate to the Eastern or Central Region. This position will be remote.

Requirements

  • Deep experience and knowledge of supportive housing, housing development, property operations, (asset management and property management), policy, and system change.
  • 12+ years’ experience in the field of homeless systems, supportive housing, affordable housing, property management, asset management, community development, and/or related fields.
  • Any combination of bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
  • This includes lived experience of homelessness, housing instability, behavioral health services, participation in housing programs, etc. and professional and/or volunteer experience in the homelessness field.
  • Previous project management experience with demonstrated leadership and organizational skills and the ability to manage project teams, project budgets, and deadlines.
  • Experience incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities in the consideration of impacts and outcomes of a decision-making process.
  • Ability to facilitate discussions and train large size groups both virtually and in-person

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, facilitation and training, active listening, and ability to present to multiple stakeholders.
  • CSH uses a Microsoft Office environment. Proficiency is required or a commitment to self-learn and achieve proficiency upon hire.
  • Candidates seeking to work remotely, or hybrid must provide their own access to a secure high-speed internet signal (preferably hard wired) at a capacity sufficient to support video, web, and email processing simultaneously based on their personal work environment. This is typically 100Mb and above.
  • This position requires the ability to travel 30- 50% of time.

Responsibilities

  • Support communities and projects that are developing or operating high quality supportive housing.
  • Under the direction of the Managing Director, this position will work with the Managing Director to advance the regional team's workplan and will develop new opportunities and project management engagements across the country in support of CSH's strategic plan.
  • Support business development including proposal writing, scoping projects, marketing, tools, and resource creation, and brainstorming of CSH products and services for the field.
  • Manage projects independently by ensuring deliverables are completed within the scope, budget, and timeframe.
  • CSH expects senior program managers to foster a work environment based on quality teamwork, mutual accountability, and high-quality performance.
  • Identify and implement project next steps and leverage opportunities within projects and portfolio.
  • Work with CSH team on projects including local and national work as assigned through deployment.
  • Identify opportunities and learnings from projects, to disseminate information across CSH teams, making appropriate connections to share knowledge, experience, and advice.
  • Maintain quality relationships and partnerships with key community stakeholders.
  • Develop written resources, trainings, and tools.
  • Create and deliver in person and virtual technical assistance, trainings, and webinars.
  • Provide systems transformation support to government partnerships across sectors.
  • Work with agility and curiosity with other related duties or special projects as assigned.
  • Use entrepreneurial and agile skills in project implementation, identifying problems and seeking solutions.
  • Provide leadership over assigned portfolio area or through execution of projects and programs.
  • Requires minimal support and coaching to understand new concepts.
  • Connects their work and portfolio to other leaders within CSH to share best practices, innovations, learnings, and information.
  • Support and lead project design or specific elements of larger programs.
  • Manages project staff, budgets and implements policy, program, and products.
  • Works toward achieving defined outcomes.
  • Market CSH and develop new relationships and new work that supports the goals of the strategic plan.
  • With support, help advance CSH's goals in political environments.
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and identify competing interest.
