$156,000 - $200,000

About The Position

Veeco designs, develops, manufactures, and services highly complex, cutting-edge machines used by customers to create essential devices that drive the digital age. The company helps solve difficult material science challenges for leading technology companies, enabling technologies for a more connected, sustainable, and convenient world. This role is critical for scaling the operations machine to build, test, and ship Spector Ion Beam Deposition systems, which are essential for next-generation AI datacenters. The Senior Operations Program Manager will own the end-to-end execution of this production ramp, coordinating various teams to deliver complex vacuum-based deposition systems on schedule, on budget, and at the expected quality levels. This is a high-visibility role with a direct line to executive leadership and potential for growth into operations director-level responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 12 or more years of experience managing complex, cross-functional programs in semiconductor equipment, aerospace, defense, or a comparable high-precision manufacturing environment.

  • Establish early-stage testing and assembly sequences ('shift-left' strategies) to move validation and testing upstream, shortening cycle time and ensuring a steady flow of verified assemblies.
  • Align engineering, supply chain, and supplier quality teams to ensure incoming components meet performance and quality specifications, managing obsolescence, design changes, or deviations preemptively.
  • Own the financial performance of the ramp, including gross margin tracking, capital expenditure planning, and cost control, presenting budget status and trade-off recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Coordinate with production managers and contract manufacturing partners on ramp readiness requirements, including cleanroom capacity, utilities, tooling, staffing, training, and standard operating procedures.
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for ramp execution, delivering regular status updates to executive management and traveling to contract manufacturer and supplier sites (up to 30% of the time) to resolve issues.
