Senior Program Manager, Enterprise Data Platform

SimpliSafeBoston, MA
Hybrid

About The Position

SimpliSafe is investing in a multi-quarter Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) program to migrate its data and analytics stack onto a modern platform and establish the architecture, governance, and operating model required to support AI/ML, personalization, and data-driven decision-making at scale. This role is for a Sr. Program Manager to oversee the day-to-day delivery of this program, coordinating vendors, engineering, governance, and business stakeholders through all phases, from platform build to migration and adoption.

Requirements

  • Resilient, comfortable owning ambiguity, and has a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to zoom into the mechanics of a single vendor contract one day and drive the multi-phase migration roadmap the next.
  • Experience in planning, execution, and oversight of complex, cross-functional workstreams from initiation to completion.
  • Experience working closely with engineering, architecture, governance, procurement, legal, and business teams.
  • Experience in contract execution for platform and implementation vendors, including MSAs, SOWs, and change orders.
  • Experience driving vendor onboarding, including access provisioning, working agreements, and communication cadence.
  • Experience managing phased migrations, including sequencing, dependency tracking, cutover readiness, rollback plans, and go/no-go criteria.
  • Experience designing and running program intake and prioritization processes.
  • Experience driving rollout of data models, architecture standards, and governance.
  • Experience operating at both project and program levels, managing interdependencies and balancing competing priorities.
  • Experience developing comprehensive project and program plans with clear timelines, resource allocation, and critical milestones.
  • Experience coordinating effectively across functions (engineering, architecture, data governance, InfoSec, Procurement, Legal, Finance, business stakeholders).
  • Experience monitoring progress and developing risk mitigation strategies.
  • Experience conducting WBR, QBR sessions.
  • Experience strategically managing resources and allocation.
  • Experience owning budget tracking across legacy and new-platform environments during transition periods.
  • Experience owning ongoing budget tracking post-migration, including platform run-rate and consumption against forecast.
  • Experience providing regular updates and reports to stakeholders and senior leadership.
  • Experience maintaining comprehensive documentation (vendor contract trackers, governance charters, RAPID/RACI matrices).
  • Experience identifying gaps in process, iterating for continuous improvement, and building playbooks.
  • Experience managing and shaping expectations across company stakeholders.
  • Experience evaluating and selecting the right tools and communication mechanisms for workstreams.
  • Experience motivating and influencing team members.
  • Experience conducting post-phase and post-program evaluations.
  • Ability to learn the EDP program deeply enough to become a strategic partner and influencer to program leadership.
  • Ability to bring analysis, point of view, and recommendations, not just status updates.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI/ML, personalization, and data-driven decision-making at scale.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end delivery of platform implementation — from vendor signature through onboarding, build, and phased migration — ensuring each phase lands on time, in scope, and within budget.
  • Lead contract execution for platform and implementation vendors — partner with Procurement, Legal, and Finance to move MSAs, SOWs, and change orders from negotiation through signature, and track terms, deliverables, and payment milestones.
  • Drive vendor onboarding — stand up new implementation partners and technology vendors from kickoff through steady-state delivery, including (not limited to) access provisioning, working agreements, and communication cadence.
  • Manage phased migrations — sequence and execute the program's multi-phase migration from current-state infrastructure, through optimization, to the new platform, tracking cross-team dependencies, cutover readiness, rollback plans, and go/no-go criteria for each phase.
  • Design and run the program's intake and prioritization process — build the mechanism for capturing, scoring, and sequencing new data and platform requests, then operate and evolve it as demand and priorities shift.
  • Drive rollout of data models, architecture standards, and governance — partner with engineering and architecture to launch new data models and reference architecture, and stand up governance bodies (e.g., Steering Committee, Data Governance Council, Architecture Review Board), driving adoption across the business.
  • Operate at both the project and program level — able to lead a single EDP workstream to completion (a vendor contract, a migration phase) and also run the multi-workstream program, managing interdependencies, aligning teams to shared outcomes, and balancing competing priorities across leaders.
  • Develop comprehensive project and program plans with clear timelines, resource allocation, and critical milestones — at the right level of detail for each.
  • Coordinate effectively across functions — including engineering, architecture, data governance, InfoSec, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and business stakeholders — acting as a central point of contact and ensuring clear communication, alignment, and timely action.
  • Monitor progress and develop risk mitigation strategies to address emerging issues and keep work on track, at both the project and program level.
  • Conduct regular WBR, QBR sessions to ensure the program tracking is transparent and risks are escalated.
  • Strategically manage resources, including not limited to allocation (as needed by the Senior Director), to optimize team productivity and achieve goals across the portfolio.
  • Own budget tracking across legacy and new-platform environments during the transition period, including reconciling cost figures across reporting cycles and flagging discrepancies before they reach executive/board level.
  • Own ongoing budget tracking post-migration — track platform run-rate and consumption against forecast, surface optimization opportunities, and feed accurate figures into annual planning and vendor renewal cycles.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to stakeholders and senior leadership, including the EDP Steering Committee — tailoring depth and altitude to the audience.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation — vendor contract trackers, governance charters, and RAPID/RACI matrices — and prepare clear, concise reports for stakeholders.
  • Identify gaps in process, iterate for continuous improvement, and build playbooks that reduce rework, redundancy, and re-creation.
  • Manage and shape expectations across company stakeholders.
  • Evaluate and select the right tools and communication mechanisms for each workstream based on scope, complexity, and stakeholder needs.
  • Motivate and influence team members to achieve objectives; provide support to cultivate a collaborative, positive work environment.
  • Conduct post-phase and post-program evaluations to assess performance, identify areas for improvement, and apply lessons learned.
  • Go beyond tactical execution — learn the EDP program deeply enough to become a strategic partner and influencer to program leadership.
  • Be the R (Recommend) in the RAPID framework: bring analysis, point of view, and recommendations, not just status updates.
