About The Position

The SMB Agentic AI Sales Team is a high-speed innovation unit focused on rapidly exploring, prototyping, and scaling new AI capabilities to reduce administrative work and improve sales team productivity. The team comprises cross-functional product builders, data scientists, engineers, and operations leaders working in agile sprints. The Senior Program Manager will serve as the operational backbone, ensuring the team stays aligned on development, shipping timelines, and business value delivery. This role is crucial for overseeing the delivery of 3-5 concurrent AI-enabled tools/workflows on a 12-month roadmap, targeting go-live between Q2-Q4 2026. The scope includes AI-powered proposal generation, lead scoring automation, sales rep productivity tools, and workflow automation. The role requires full-cycle business case ownership, from financial modeling and assumption validation pre-launch to ROI tracking post-launch. The Senior Program Manager will manage program governance, maintain RACI, identify blockers, surface options, and escalate strategic decisions to leadership. This position reports directly to the Manager, SMB AI Transformation, and involves driving alignment with Directors in Marketing, Sales, and Engineering.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on program/project management experience managing 3+ concurrent workstreams with significant cross-functional dependencies and evolving scope.
  • Experience managing complexity at scale and scaling governance as a program grows.
  • Demonstrated fluency with financial modeling and business case development, including building and defending financial models with CFO-level scrutiny.
  • Experience with 3-year DCF models, sensitivity analysis, and tracking actual outcomes against projections.
  • Exceptional communication and executive presence, with the ability to distill complex program status into clear narratives.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and influence across peer-level leaders and above without direct authority.
  • Rigorous about standards and governance, advocating for the right governance, quality, security, and operability standards.
  • Biased toward documentation and clarity, thinking in RACIs, decision logs, and governance frameworks.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on familiarity with AI/machine learning concepts, emerging AI products, or technology-driven transformation initiatives.
  • Experience managing programs with significant financial investment ($3M+) and ELT-level visibility.
  • Background in agile/scrum program delivery and sprint-based development practices.
  • Experience with program management tools (Jira, Smartsheet, Monday.com, or equivalent) and financial modeling tools.
  • Track record of post-program analysis and organizational learning.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of 3-5 concurrent AI-enabled tools/workflows on a 12-month delivery roadmap.
  • Own the full-cycle business case, including pre-launch financial modeling, assumption validation, and post-launch ROI tracking.
  • Manage program governance, including weekly standup syncs, bi-weekly Steering Committee meetings, monthly executive business reviews, and quarterly board-ready updates.
  • Define and enforce readiness standards for each new launch and agile release milestone (Product, Quality, Security, Operability).
  • Gate release decisions against defined standards.
  • Build and maintain executive transparency through regular updates on program health, timeline, and business case performance.
  • Drive alignment across Marketing, Sales, Engineering, and GTM operations.
  • Ensure chaos does not become the default by managing program governance and operational decisions.
  • Shape how TELUS builds and scales AI-enabled workflows.
