About The Position

The Center for Human Development (CHD) is seeking a Senior Program Director for its Community Outreach team in Connecticut. This program focuses on subsidized housing models to help residents access community resources, arrange meals, plan social activities, and manage arising issues, with the goal of fostering stability and community for participants. The Senior Program Director will support CHD's mission and values, maintain professionalism, and develop a quality program to integrate clients into the community. The Supportive Housing Program combines housing with services for older adults and people living with disabilities. The Program Director oversees all aspects of programs designed to integrate formerly institutionalized and/or homeless adults in need of service by acting as a liaison to providers and the community. The ideal candidate will establish and maintain open, effective communication and is responsible for the functioning of all supportive housing and housing-related programming in CT. The Senior Program Director will provide supervision, training, and support to staff members to enhance effectiveness and foster growth and development, acting as a liaison to contracting agencies and the community.

Requirements

Master's degree in human services-related field from accredited institution (preferred)
3-5 years of management experience in a mental health related program
3 years of supervisory experience
Experience with supportive Housing and HUD housing
Approved criminal background and driving check
Registered & insured vehicle available for work purposes

Responsibilities

Develop and manage a quality program designed to integrate clients served into the community.
Oversee all facets of programs designed to integrate formerly institutionalized and/or homeless adults in need of service by serving as a liaison to providers and the community.
Create and maintain open, effectual lines of communication.
Be responsible for the functioning of all supportive housing, and housing related programming in CT.
Provide supervision, training and support to staff members to enhance effectiveness and foster ongoing growth and development.
Work as a liaison to contracting agencies and the community with strong and effective lines of communication.
Develop and implement program policies and procedures in compliance with state regulations and sound clinical practice.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with the community and other service providers and funding agencies.
Display effective leadership with the ability to develop, supervise, motivate and train staff.
Develop, negotiate, and monitor budgets, contracts, and proposals.
Ensure that self and staff consistently demonstrate client advocacy skills and ability to build effective community and social service agency networks and relationships.
Support staff and client needs with a sensitivity to issues of human oppression and diversity.
