About The Position

SciTec, a subsidiary of Firefly Aerospace, is a defense contractor specializing in advanced technologies for U.S. National Security and Defense. For over 45 years, SciTec has supported Department of Defense customers by developing innovative remote sensing algorithms, tools, and techniques for data exploitation in areas such as missile defense, intelligence, surveillance, & reconnaissance, space domain awareness, and aircraft survivability. SciTec is seeking a talented business development professional with a technical product background and a proven record of business growth to serve as a Senior Program Development Manager (PDM) in their Huntsville, Alabama office. In this role, "business development" involves creating and delivering program solutions to address the warfighter's most critical needs. The PDM will report to the Executive Director of Program Development and will be responsible for identifying, tracking, developing, and capturing new business opportunities within assigned Strategic Campaigns. This role includes leading or actively contributing to proposals and requires the ability to function as an individual contributor while also leading teams in fast-paced environments. SciTec exclusively works on U.S. government contracts requiring U.S. citizenship for all employees and cannot sponsor work visas. U.S. citizenship is mandatory for obtaining and maintaining a security clearance.

Requirements

Master’s degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, or computer science.
U.S. Government or aerospace industry experience in business development or technical program management roles of 20+ years.
Industry experience of 15+ years leading the development of capture plans and technical proposals in support of Department of War or Intelligence Community.
Experience in leading business capture and proposal development efforts, including proposal development process and conducting meetings/reviews.
Experience leading and winning individual technical proposal efforts in excess of $50M.
Strong writing skills to articulate and refine technical and managerial solutions that align with customers’ needs.
Ability to interact and develop positive relationships with customers, teammates, and company senior leadership.
Strong team building, time-management, and conflict-resolution abilities.
Active DoD SECRET clearance or higher.
U.S. citizenship is required for all employees due to the nature of U.S. government contracts.

Nice To Haves

Demonstrated experience working with the Missile Defense Agency, U.S. Space Force, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, COCOMs, or the Intelligence Community.
Demonstrated domain expertise in technologies, applications, and operations in one or more of the following mission areas: integrated air and missile defense, national security space systems, battle management command and control, or ISR.
Demonstrated track record of business development success with US Government customers in national security arena.
Demonstrated experience leading technical teams to develop new capabilities and solutions for US Government customers.

Responsibilities

Identify, capture, and maintain program opportunity pipelines and roadmaps within assigned Strategic Campaigns as part of overall corporate strategy.
Lead assigned opportunities through a gated milestone process, leading to a proposal development effort or a no-bid decision.
Lead assigned proposal efforts as the Proposal Manager and manage the development of proposal content (technical solution, win themes, features/benefits, proof points, graphics, etc.) with the technical team (company and teammates) and proposal compliance content with internal Business Operations organizations (Contracts, Finance, IT, Security, etc.).
Develop and track to a proposal schedule, establish and manage the proposal budget baseline, and support other proposal efforts to ensure timely delivery of all required proposal content.
Develop teaming strategies, teaming agreements, and subcontract RFPs.
Develop marketing materials and articulate SciTec’s capabilities and solutions to customers and industry partners.
Brief corporate and Portfolio Leadership on the status and progress of new business pipeline and initiatives.
Support pre-award activities including addressing customer questions, BAFO, and teammate engagement.
Support just-awarded program standup activities to include kickoff meetings, staff hiring, team orientation, and collaborative IT environments.
Periodic business travel may be necessary to meet with customers and industry teammates and to represent SciTec at tradeshows and conferences.
