About The Position

As a Senior Production Support Engineer on the US Risk Technology team, you will support our anti-money laundering (AML) platform built using SAS Viya 3.5. This platform is used for customer risk rating, transaction monitoring, and regulatory reporting. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2 days per week on-site, while other days may be remote.

Requirements

At least 5-8 years of experience in an application support role.
Experience with Linux virtual machines.
Experience writing SQL queries.
Technical familiarity with cloud computing (preferably Azure).
Strong communication skills.
Ability to prioritize work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Legally eligible to work at the specified location(s) and, where applicable, must have a valid work or study permit.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SAS Viya.
Relevant certifications.
Completion of the SAS Certified Specialist: Administration of SAS Viya exam.
Relevant Microsoft Azure training.

Responsibilities

Investigate application issues; prioritize incidents based on impact and severity.
Identify root causes and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
Apply IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices for incident, change, and problem management.
Write complex SQL queries; troubleshoot extract, transform, and load (ETL) pipelines.
Manage Linux virtual machines and a PostgreSQL database hosted on Microsoft Azure.
Oversee production changes affecting CIBC’s SAS Viya AML platform, including bug fixes and version upgrades.
Perform disaster recovery tests.
Build trusted working relationships with business stakeholders, technology partners, and external vendors.
Express technical concepts to non-technical audiences with precision and clarity.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies, changes in the banking industry, and regulatory developments.
