About The Position

The senior Production Planner will plan, schedule, and monitor the movement of material through manufacturing. They will analyze material requirements for production schedules and plan an efficient production flow based on material availability and capacity. Coordinates the efficient movement of materials with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, and Customer Service. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management Logistics, Business Administration, Production Management, and/or 5 years or more relevant experience.
  • Proficiency with planning tools, ERP systems, and procedures required in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and understanding of MRP, JIT, Kanban, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Experience creating and managing manufacturing production work orders.
  • Management of cycle time reduction, process flow, and cost optimization.
  • High-level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in gathering and analyzing data, and effectively identifying and reporting problems and opportunities.
  • Interpersonal skills, and an understanding of relationship building with internal and external customers and co-workers.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Skype, Excel, PowerPoint, and AX a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and prioritize manufacturing flow through the creation and maintenance of production work orders.
  • Analyze short and long-term constraints and make recommendations for resolution to maintain on-time delivery goals.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to expedite the flow of materials to meet production schedules and customer expectations.
  • Provide frequent updates to stakeholders advising on the status of WIP, material availability, and potential risk.
  • Review and evaluate clear to build, production progress, build output goals and manage WIP.
  • Make suggestions for process improvement opportunities.
  • Manages scrap or rework activities resulting from engineering change orders.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
