About The Position

LTS Lohmann Therapy Systems is seeking a Senior Production Planner to join our Manufacturing Operations team. In this role, you will develop, manage, and optimize production schedules within a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. You will play a key role in ensuring product availability, regulatory compliance, inventory optimization, and efficient use of manufacturing resources through SAP PP and SAP MDM. Schedule: 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m., Monday–Friday. This role is mostly onsite in West St. Paul, MN with some limited hybrid potential after the introductory period.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of production planning experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or another regulated manufacturing environment.
  • 3+ years of SAP PP and SAP MDM experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize production schedules for pharmaceutical batch manufacturing operations based on customer orders, forecasts, and demand requirements.
  • Execute MRP and capacity planning activities in SAP PP to support material availability and efficient manufacturing resource utilization.
  • Maintain and govern SAP master data, including material masters, BOMs, recipes, routings, production versions, planning parameters, and lead times.
  • Coordinate production plans across Manufacturing, Engineering, Project Management, Maintenance, Quality, Procurement, Warehouse, and Program Management.
  • Monitor inventory levels, material availability, shelf-life constraints, and supply risks while developing proactive mitigation plans.
  • Support product launches, technology transfers, process validations, engineering changes, and commercialization activities.
  • Track and report planning performance metrics, driving improvements in schedule adherence, inventory management, customer service, and planning effectiveness.
  • Serve as a planning liaison to Program Management and Customer Service by providing production status updates, capacity assessments, and escalation support.
  • Coordinate planning activities related to artwork revisions, packaging changes, material transitions, and inventory obsolescence management.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning processes, SAP utilization, data accuracy, capacity visibility, and operational efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain demand forecasts using historical trends, customer forecasts, market conditions, product launches, and supply chain considerations.
  • Support the Sales & Operations Planning process through demand and supply balancing, capacity analysis, inventory planning, and scenario modeling.
  • Partner with Procurement to establish inventory, safety stock, and replenishment strategies that balance customer service, working capital, and shelf-life requirements.
  • Analyze manufacturing capacity, resource constraints, and production trends to support long-range volume, equipment, facility, and workforce planning.
  • Support annual operating and financial forecasting processes through analysis of production volumes, inventory projections, and material spending requirements.
  • Lead and develop Production Planners, Schedulers, and other planning personnel through coaching, training, performance management, and professional development.
  • Establish planning priorities and allocate resources to support production plans, customer commitments, and business objectives.
  • Drive adherence to planning standards, SAP process discipline, data integrity requirements, and continuous improvement initiatives across the planning function.
