About The Position

The Senior (Sr) Production Manager is a key member of the Plant Leadership Team and is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for all production operations within the facility. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and cost-effective manufacture of high-quality products while advancing McCain’s Winning Culture, values, and long-term manufacturing strategy. The Sr Production Manager acts as a thought partner to the Plant Manager, translating plant and enterprise strategies into executable operational plans, strengthening leadership capability across shifts, and driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, cost, service, and engagement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required - preference for Engineering, Food Science, Operations Management, or Business. In lieu of a degree, candidates with 10+ years of experience in equipment efficiency will be considered.
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership experience required in food and/or beverage manufacturing environments, preferably in frozen or high-volume operations.
  • Proven experience leading multi-shift operations and developing managers and frontline leaders.
  • Demonstrated success improving safety, quality, cost, and employee engagement within complex manufacturing settings.
  • Strong operational and financial acumen, with ability to align daily activities with strategic outcomes.
  • Advanced people leadership skills including coaching, change management, and effective labor relations.
  • Exceptional influence across functions and organizational levels, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and capacity to lead through ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Senior Leader on the Plant Leadership Team, influencing plant priorities, investments, and change initiatives.
  • Lead and deliver site-wide initiatives, production operations, and continuous improvement projects—driving safety, quality, service, cost, and efficiency.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and partners to advance plant and network objectives.
  • Develop leaders and teams through coaching, succession planning, inclusive practices, and robust onboarding, training, and performance management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, food, GMP, and environmental standards, while proactively managing workforce planning and emergency preparedness.
