About The Position

The Senior Production Manager is responsible for managing Process Safety Management (PSM) production operations from receiving through shipping in a manner consistent with stated objectives of Kalsec. This role involves managing all production operations, personnel, and equipment, working cross-functionally to ensure profitability by providing raw materials and products to meet sales and procurement needs. The manager will develop, establish, and manage budgets, standards, and production schedules to maximize profit and leverage growth opportunities. They will formulate systems, reports, procedures, and training programs for production personnel and assist in their translation to other departments. A key responsibility is monitoring adherence to policies, procedures, union contract, rules of conduct, and safety rules, undertaking corrective action where necessary. The role is responsible for Process Safety Management (PSM) for the processes running in the production area, championing adherence to all process safety rules, guidelines, and elements. The Senior Production Manager will analyze operations, report deviations from expected performance, and initiate corrective action. They will maintain records necessary to monitor and control operations and direct the generation of monthly control reports. Developing and implementing strategies to drive continuous improvement and increase manufacturing efficiencies, leveraging data from control reports and operations analysis, is crucial. The manager will hire manufacturing personnel in accordance with company policies, ensure the timely availability of supplies, materials, and instructions to meet production standards, and schedule equipment and product mix to maximize utilization, issuing operating instructions. Responsibilities also include the scheduling, feasibility, and profitability of performed experiments, and developing and implementing Global Manufacturing Strategies for Kalamazoo Holdings through cross-functional interactions. Awareness of the company’s Q.A policy and objectives, and observation of these policy provisions and fulfillment of job requirements are essential.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years related experience as an individual contributor and 3+ years of people/process managerial experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Education in Engineering, Business Management, Food Science, or Organizational Leadership.
Leadership experience in food, beverage, chemical, process or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Strong organizational skills and detail orientation.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience using lean manufacturing tools for manufacturing problem solving.
