Caterpillar’s CISM division is hiring for Sr. Product Procurement Engineer in Peoria, IL! Role Summary: In this role you will manage safe source of information for part development and resourcing projects through New Product Introduction (NPI), Continuous Product Improvement (CPI), and New Source Introduction (NSI), cost initiatives, and other related activities by collaborating with design control engineers, value chain engineering, product group teams, life cycle management teams, and procurement category teams.

Strategic Sourcing: Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously.

Experience in APQP process and Quality Project Management.
Experience with Lean six sigma or equivalent
Project Management experience.
Understanding of New Product Introduction (NPI) and New Site Introduction (NSI) processes.

Responsibilities

Lead Hydraulics ELITE CPPD Team (ECT) meetings under guidance of ECT owner to ensure alignment across disciplines for source decisions.
Manage source change approval requirements for ECT, Enterprise Component Strategy (ECS), Earthmoving source council, and trade.
Drive organizational alignment through data management including procurement spend and savings PowerBI, monthly supplier performance metrics, buyer responsibility, ECT project trackers
Complete Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis with inputs from buyers and engineers following current Business Resources guidance
Driving Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) through cost modeling, design for manufacturability, and leveraging suppliers’ capabilities.
Data analysis to identify cost and performance opportunities.
Data grief management analyzing part attributes to determine appropriate engineering and procurement coding and ownership responsibilities
Data analysis and proposals for Annual Business Plan (ABP), Cost reduction tracking, and Rolling Business Model (RBM) planning
