As a Sr. Quality by Design Specialist, you will play a key role in bringing innovative products to market by ensuring quality, food safety, and regulatory compliance are embedded throughout the product development lifecycle. Serving as the Quality representative for assigned Category 1 and 2 projects, you will lead Quality by Design activities across the Idea to Launch (I2L) process, including the development of pHACCP and quality monitoring plans (rMMS) for new products and technologies. You will partner with cross-functional teams, provide technical quality support to factories and Application Groups and champion continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen compliance, operational excellence, and product quality across the organization.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field preferred. Master degree preferred.
5+ years of experience in Quality, R&D, or Manufacturing within the food, nutrition, or dietary supplement industry.
Background in HACCP, with experience supporting food safety and quality systems.
Experience with Quality by Design, ingredient specifications, and new product development.
Experience in risk assessment including Microbiology, Chemical contaminants, allergens and physical hazards.
Knowledge of quality standards and systems, including ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, SAP (GLOBE), (NesTMS, and the Nestlé Management System (NMS) preferred).
Experience participating in audits, continuous improvement initiatives, and change management efforts.
Working knowledge of hygienic design, zoning, statistical process control, and thermal processing.
Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification and Better Process Control School (BPCS) training preferred.
Experience with medical nutrition products and dietary supplements, including solid-dose and gummy formats, preferred.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Highly organized, solution-oriented, and able to influence stakeholders and drive results.

Responsibilities

Support the development of quality capabilities by delivering training and awareness programs on Nestlé Standards, Quality processes, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Serve as the Quality representative on innovation project teams, ensuring all Quality and Food Safety deliverables are achieved throughout the Idea to Launch (I2L) process.
Lead Food Safety Assessments and develop mHACCP, pHACCP and rMMS plans for new products and technologies, including implementation support for manufacturing sites.
Assess the food safety of products, ingredients, and processes by designing, overseeing, and interpreting scientific studies, including shelf-life studies, challenge studies, method development, and validation activities.
Facilitate effective transfer of Quality and Food Safety knowledge to operations through training, project handovers, and cross-functional collaboration.
Ensure compliance with Nestlé Standards, Food Safety requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Provide technical quality expertise and support to manufacturing sites and Application Groups.
Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, compliance, operational excellence, and product performance.
