Senior Product Owner - AI
About The Position
Lumen Solutions Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Product Owner – AI to identify AI-driven opportunities, enhance existing products, and translate business needs into actionable product requirements. The role focuses on Generative AI and Agentic AI, collaborating with business stakeholders, data scientists, solution architects, and engineering teams to advance AI initiatives from concept through implementation and production. This is a 12-month contract-to-hire role based in Reston, Virginia and/or Washington, DC, with a hybrid arrangement requiring onsite attendance one to two times per week as needed. The interview process consists of two rounds: a virtual first round and an onsite second round.
Requirements
- 10+ years of overall IT experience.
- 7–8 years of Product Owner experience, including ownership of product requirements, backlog prioritization, and delivery.
- Hands-on experience with Generative AI and Agentic AI.
- Ability to identify AI use cases and integrate AI capabilities into existing products and workflows.
- Experience translating business requirements into user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications.
- Experience working with data scientists, solution architects, engineering teams, and business stakeholders.
- Ability to drive product enhancements and AI initiatives through implementation and production.
- Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies, product development lifecycles, and software delivery processes.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to attend onsite meetings and work from the Reston, VA and/or Washington, DC office as required.
Nice To Haves
- Healthcare industry experience, particularly with healthcare products, platforms, or business processes.
- Experience enhancing existing AI-enabled products and identifying new AI integration opportunities.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and modern software development environments.
- Understanding of databases, APIs, system integrations, CI/CD, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
- Experience collaborating with technical teams on AI solution design, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Define product requirements, objectives, and priorities for AI-driven initiatives and enhancements.
- Identify opportunities to integrate Generative AI and Agentic AI into existing products, business processes, and workflows.
- Translate business needs into product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and a prioritized product backlog.
- Collaborate with data scientists, solution architects, developers, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to deliver AI solutions.
- Drive AI use cases and product enhancements from ideation and requirements gathering through development, testing, implementation, and production.
- Lead stakeholder meetings, product discussions, and Agile ceremonies to align priorities and delivery objectives.
- Evaluate existing products and workflows to identify opportunities for AI adoption, automation, and improved business outcomes.
- Ensure product solutions align with business goals, technical requirements, and organizational standards.
- Monitor implementation progress, resolve requirement-related challenges, and support continuous product improvement.
