About The Position

Shorebird is seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive the product function on a daily basis. This individual contributor role involves directly driving the roadmap, working with engineering, sales, and marketing to ensure the right products are built in the right order. The role encompasses the full product lifecycle, from understanding developer needs to defining products, ensuring successful shipping, and managing their adoption. The ideal candidate has prior experience shipping developer tools and understands the unique aspects of building for an engineering audience, with strong opinions on developer experience.

Requirements

  • Mission alignment with helping developers avoid redundant work and advancing Flutter's capabilities.
  • 5+ years of product management experience.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience working on developer tools, infrastructure, or products with engineers as primary end-users.
  • Strong product instincts, including framing problems, ruthless prioritization, and decision-making with incomplete information.
  • A research-first mindset, comfortable gathering user needs directly from developers.
  • Technical credibility to earn the respect of engineering teams, including understanding PRs and architecture tradeoffs.
  • Excellent written communication skills for specs, roadmap updates, and internal briefs.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and small-team environments, including building processes.
  • Cross-functional range to engage with customers, metrics reviews, and go-to-market conversations.
  • Experience shipping developer tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience with mobile or Flutter development.
  • Background in devtools, SDKs, CLI tooling, or similar technical product categories.

Responsibilities

  • Own product definition, writing clear and well-researched specs for engineering and sales.
  • Conduct ongoing customer research to understand user needs and priorities.
  • Partner with engineering on product sequencing and scope, actively participating in tradeoff discussions.
  • Coordinate product timelines and rollout plans.
  • Define and track product metrics, setting success criteria and holding accountability for post-launch numbers.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing on go-to-market strategies, reviewing positioning, docs, and launch content.
  • Maintain and communicate the product roadmap internally and externally.
  • Surface and prioritize enterprise customer needs, ensuring feedback is incorporated into the product.
