About The Position

The Vanguard Financial Advisor Services Portfolio & Product Insights product team is hiring an experienced, outcome-driven, and client-centric product manager to lead work at the core of our future vision: deliver solutions and services that help our clients solve portfolio challenges. At Vanguard, we deliver a suite of portfolio analytics capabilities to advisors including web tools on the Vanguard advisor website and white-glove portfolio consolation reviews with deep experts. Some of the items the team is currently working on include expanding the scope of products available for portfolio analysis, re-imagining the materials our portfolio analysts use to facilitate high-value portfolio conversations and automation of portfolio construction processes. In this role, you will lead both product discovery and delivery with a particularly strong emphasis on discovery. This means researching, testing, and experimenting to uncover opportunities that truly matter to advisors and move the business forward, and partnering with offer and agile team to bring new capabilities and features to life. You will step into this role at an exciting moment for Vanguard, as we rapidly strengthen our digital presence to become embedded in an advisor’s day-to-day workflow, while accelerating expansion into a broader range of financial products and advisor services.

Requirements

  • Previous or current Product Manager experience is with strong understanding of product life cycle and product discovery.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Minimum of five years related work experience.
  • Two years of leading large cross-functional teams on major organizational projects preferred.
  • Minimum 8 years of related work experience, with at least two years of experience leading large cross-functional teams on major organizational projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech) in Computer Science or IT, or Bachelor’s in Computer Applications (BCA), or Master’s in Computer Applications (MCA).
  • Strong expertise in digital product management, market analysis, and user experience optimization.
  • Proven ability to translate customer insights into product improvements and new features.
  • Experience working with engineering teams to drive product development from concept to launch.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities to align product strategy with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Use product management, agile, and design thinking practices to lead your cross-functional team through the end-to-end product development process: from identifying the right problem, to experimenting to validate potential solutions, to iteratively launching and evaluating new features.
  • Constantly look for unmet advisor needs and prioritize small and large enhancements to better address them.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations through compelling presentations and strategic roadmaps.
  • Leverage leadership skills to rally a team of cross-disciplinary experts
  • Develop and apply knowledge of the U.S. advisor industry, the Vanguard Financial Advisor Services offer, and the Vanguard Advisors’ website to make informed recommendations.
  • Leads product management activities for multiple products, or one strategic product.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to create best practices that drive significant change to the client experience.
  • Coaches product teams towards best practices and learnings.
  • Ensures delivery of messaging, communication, and customer outreach as necessary.
  • Partners with stakeholders to resolve production and implementation issues in a timely manner, and supports/drives escalations where to enable rapid delivery.
  • Leads the planning, development and implementation of new products.
  • Defines and analyzes markets, developing detailed product features and requirements, and developing implementation plans.
  • Employs a variety of qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to continually improve the user experience.
  • Participates in and provides recommendations for ongoing business planning and departmental prioritization activities.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
