Senior Product Manager - Agentic Commerce

American Express•New York, NY
•$123,000 - $215,250

About The Position

Amex Digital Labs is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead product strategy and platform development for Agentic Commerce at American Express. The role focuses on enabling seamless, secure agent-driven transactions by defining the experiences, platform capabilities, and trust frameworks needed to scale across partners and future use cases. The Product Manager will build knowledge of emerging agentic commerce protocols, existing card payment infrastructure, and new interaction models, then work with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to shape intuitive commerce journeys powered by AI agents. The role will help extend American Express’s authentication, authorization, identity, and risk capabilities into AI-powered commerce while preserving Card Member visibility and control over agent-initiated activity. It will use the company’s membership model, brand, and data assets to develop value for Card Members, merchants, partners, and the broader ecosystem. The position also requires coordinating across the payments ecosystem, supporting platform architecture and partner enablement, and addressing fraud, servicing, governance, and regulatory considerations. Employment eligibility to work in the United States is required; American Express will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.

  • Highly organized self-starter with strong ownership and a business track record.
  • Understanding of technology and product development processes, with the ability to communicate with and influence technical and non-technical partners.
  • Ability to reconcile competing customer, stakeholder, and partner needs, make effective decisions, and gain buy-in.
  • Proven ability to partner with engineering and discuss technical trade-offs; able to connect business and technology.
  • Detail-oriented, able to identify key questions and assess how product components interact.
  • Ability to recognize issues quickly and find resolutions through creative, efficient problem-solving.
  • Ability to balance big-picture strategy with tactical details.
  • Collaborative, comfortable with ambiguity, adaptable, accountable, and highly organized.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, including the ability to engage, influence, and inspire partners to drive collaboration and alignment.
