About The Position

Kora is a global payment infrastructure company that provides the rails for financial institutions, fintechs, and enterprises to move money across borders reliably and at scale. The company's vision is to create a world void of digital financial barriers by delivering reliable, secure, and easy-to-use digital financial solutions. Kora is seeking a Senior Product Manager to join its Product Management team, specifically to lead either the Pay-ins or Payouts products. This role involves optimizing existing payment methods and payout channels, as well as developing new ones to support the company's expansion into new countries. Product Managers at Kora own the end-to-end problem-solving process for their respective areas, developing and executing product strategies to enable seamless payment experiences. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence how global and local businesses accept payments from customers across Africa. The role involves reporting to the Head of Product and collaborating closely with Product Management, Engineering, Product Design, Business, Compliance, and IT teams, as well as maintaining strong relationships with managing teams and directors across the business.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in product management, with demonstrated experience in successfully building and shipping impactful products
  • Experience building payment solutions in the fintech industry
  • Strong strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • You have a good understanding of how software is built and operated and experience in building technical software products
  • Strong customer empathy and experience shaping product direction and execution based on customer needs
  • Excellent ability to bring clarity and focus to complex and ambiguous situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and lead teams - Product roles bring responsibility without direct authority. We’re looking for leaders who can motivate and earn the trust of stakeholders and teams with a collaborative approach.

  • Experience working with both qualitative customer insights and quantitative data to inform decisions. You’ve conducted user research, and a/b tests and have worked closely with product analysts.

Responsibilities

  • Strive to deeply understand user needs by conducting user research and identifying opportunities and pain points. And advocate for user needs through the cycle of building products.
  • Define, document, and drive roadmaps, project plans, and precise product specifications that consistently deliver quality products for your customers.
  • Work with a team of engineers and designers to discover solutions to customer pain points, and build and launch products for local and global businesses.

  • Ensure successful product launches by working cross-functionally with marketing, merchant success, sales, operations, legal, and compliance teams.
