About The Position

Convex is seeking a Senior Product Manager to shape the agentic/developer experience for their backend platform. This role involves codifying good systems design principles to ensure simplicity, correctness, scale, and performance in application development. The ideal candidate will have a passion for developer products and experience guiding product direction at a technical company. This is a hands-on role where you will collaborate with founders on strategic direction, analyze usage data to understand developer behavior, and work with the Head of Ops on product positioning and market launch. A key aspect of this job is embracing the thoughtful design required for a platform that agents cannot fully replicate, ensuring high quality and user experience.

Requirements

Deep product experience at a technical or developer-facing company, with a proven track record of shaping product direction.
Genuine comfort with technical depth; ability to engage seriously with technical tradeoffs and earn credibility with the engineering team.
History of direct customer engagement and translating those interactions into impactful product decisions.
Strong analytical instincts and comfort forming conclusions from data, even with incomplete signals.
Experience owning positioning and messaging for technically complex products.
Experience as a sole or early Product Manager who has built the function from the ground up.
Interest in working in-person at Convex's office in San Francisco.
Understanding of developer products and the unique needs of technical users.
Developed taste for great products and a track record of pushing for high-quality solutions.
Ability to form independent views and challenge team assumptions.
Value for simplicity and clarity in product thinking, positioning, prioritization, and explanations.
Experience working effectively with founders, including knowing when to push back, being direct, and building trust.
Constructive, positive, and energetic attitude towards building and improving products.

Responsibilities

Work closely with founders and the engineering team to develop and maintain a clear point of view on product development priorities and rationale.
Engage directly with customers to understand their development processes, challenges, and reasons for choosing or not choosing Convex.
Own product analytics, utilizing data to identify successful features and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with the CEO and Head of Ops on product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies for new capabilities.
Independently determine focus areas in close collaboration with the engineering team and CTO.
