Senior Product Manager, Work Planning

About The Position

MaintainX is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the Work Planning capabilities in its Core division. This division encompasses the majority of MaintainX features used daily by customers, including work orders, maintenance plans, parts inventories, and other frontline workflows and analytics. The ideal candidate will have deep experience building workflow products for complex operational environments and a proven track record of transforming foundational systems into enterprise differentiators. As MaintainX expands its reach to larger enterprises, the focus is on creating a system that not only generates work but also ensures comprehensive job preparation before a technician begins. This role involves end-to-end ownership of this critical problem.

Requirements

5–7 years in product management with significant experience building tools for complex operational workflows, preferably at a company serving enterprise customers.
Proven experience building highly configurable systems for complex operational environments, designing products that make powerful rules, automation, or configuration accessible to non-technical users.
Comfortable navigating cross-team dependencies and making scope trade-offs on dependency-heavy features.
Proven ability to drive discovery in greenfield product areas, defining problems from scratch and establishing measurement baselines.
Able to inspire and rally a team around a clear vision, strategy, and roadmap, connecting daily work to specific KPIs and business goals.
Experience in industrial, field service, or operational technology domains is a strong signal but not a requirement.

Nice To Haves

Interest in AI/agentic product experiences is a plus.

Responsibilities

Own preventive maintenance end-to-end, defining how PM programs operate, how work flows through the system, and evolving this foundation for complex enterprise organizations.
Own the full journey from work request to execution-ready work order, including the request portal, planner's tools for triage and preparation, and the workflow ensuring jobs have the right plan, parts, and approvals.
Pioneer agentic planning experiences, such as auto-enriching work orders with historical data, proactively surfacing readiness gaps, and forecasting workload to build an intelligent layer for planners.
Own the metrics that measure planning function performance for customers, including PM compliance, planned vs. reactive work ratio, backlog health, and planning accuracy.
Work closely with Sales to articulate how MaintainX's planning and work readiness capabilities meet enterprise customer needs.
Inspire and motivate a team of designers and engineers to achieve ambitious outcomes, defining and measuring success using operational metrics tied to customer value.
