About The Position

At BuildOps, we’re building a groundbreaking software solution designed to empower today’s commercial contractors. From service management to project execution, we’re reimagining how our customers operate. Our team thrives on ambition, innovation, and collaboration—qualities we look for in every new hire. As a Senior Product Manager, Project Management, you will build an industry-leading Project Management solution for the commercial subcontracting industry that spans field workflows, labor planning and forecasting, collaboration, financials, and AI-powered experiences. You’ll partner closely with our customers to deeply understand their people, organizational structures, processes, and what they need from their operations platform—then translate that into solutions that drive measurable outcomes for both our customers and the business. You’ll work cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Sales, Customer Success, and leadership, and you’ll be accountable for customer-driven KPIs and clear business impact.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in the technology industry, with 5+ years in Product Management for B2B SaaS; or: 3+ years in a contractor or construction firm followed by 3+ years building B2B software as a Product Manager.
  • Experience building end-to-end product experiences, including prototyping and solution development with AI coding assistants.
  • Strong familiarity with contractor / construction project workflows (labor planning, schedules, change orders, cost tracking, collaboration) and how they show up in software.
  • Mission-driven mindset, motivated by complex, real-world challenges faced by commercial subcontractors.
  • Experience working in a technical environment, with basic SQL skills and proficiency in analytics tools to inform decisions.
  • Strong understanding of agile development methodologies and a track record of working effectively with engineering and design in an agile environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience partnering closely with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, CS, Implementation, PS).
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data—both quantitative and qualitative—to shape product strategy and day-to-day prioritization.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in specialty contractor operations (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, or similar) or adjacent construction domains.
  • Experience working on 2D / BIM solutions or construction project planning tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision and roadmap for the Project Management domain, driving strategy and execution with a cross-functional squad of engineers, designers, QA, and data partners.
  • Engage directly with customers of varying sizes and segments to uncover needs, validate solutions, and ensure we’re solving real project-execution problems.
  • Design workflows that help contractors run stronger projects by streamlining field and office collaboration, preventing schedule slippage, forecasting labor demand, and providing accurate, real-time financial visibility.
  • Leverage AI and ML to challenge traditional approaches, exploring and shipping innovative experiences that materially improve speed, accuracy, and decision-making for project teams.
  • Align the roadmap with company objectives by working closely with other Product Managers, Customer Success, Sales, and Implementation to prioritize opportunities and trade-offs.
  • Lead go-to-market and change management for your domain: communicate priorities and feature launches across the company, and partner with Customer Success to drive successful rollouts and adoption.
  • Run effective beta programs with early adopters, capturing feedback to refine experiences before broader release.
  • Own clear customer and business outcomes, defining and tracking KPIs that improve platform value (e.g., adoption, NPS, efficiency gains) and support revenue and retention goals.
