The Senior Product Manager will have unique mastery and recognized authority on relevant subject matter knowledge including technologies, theories and techniques. Contributes to the development of innovative principles and ideas. Successfully operates in HP's most complex disciplines. Provides highly innovative solutions. Leads large, cross-division functional teams or projects that affect the organization's long-term goals and objectives. May participate in cross-division, multi-function teams. Provides mentoring and guidance to lower level employees. Routinely exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and criteria for achieving objectives. Develops strategy and sets functional policy and direction. Acts as a functional manager within area of expertise but does not manage other employees as a primary job function. This role will be responsible for developing and driving the Peripherals Portfolio Strategy within the Personal Computing / Systems organization. Working across multiple product categories, to include new form factors / categories, this individual will be at the core of developing new portfolio strategies; aligning with key cross-functional teams (e.g. Design, Technology, Engineering, Finance, Marketing, Operations, and Sales); and championing the portfolio internally and externally. This US-based role will report directly to the Global Head of the Personal Peripherals portfolio, but will also partner closely with the Head of the Personal Peripherals Product Strategy & Planning product management teams. While there will be some product management duties, this role will be more focused on portfolio management than traditional product management. With that being said, having a strong product management background is critical to the success of this position.
