Senior Product Manager, Machine Learning
About The Position
The Senior Product Manager, Machine Learning will shape and drive the growth of Remitly’s machine learning platform, ensuring it supports scalable, reliable, and impactful ML-powered solutions across the business. Reporting to the Head of AI, this role partners with ML engineers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to identify lifecycle bottlenecks and translate findings into product requirements. The position is based in the Seattle Metropolitan area, with telecommuting available up to three days per week subject to manager approval. The role owns the ML platform roadmap and delivery, including platform usability and integration requirements, governance and security compliance, and success metrics. It also evaluates third-party solutions and monitors emerging ML infrastructure trends to expand platform capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a directly related technical field.
- Five years of progressively responsible experience defining product strategy, managing feature development, and leading full-lifecycle product management.
- One year of experience applying core ML concepts to business use cases.
- One year of experience applying Agile and Kanban methodologies to plan, prioritize, and deliver ML platform features.
- One year of experience leading the roadmap and delivery for cross-functional teams of engineers, data scientists, and analysts delivering technical platform features.
- One year of experience gathering and synthesizing feedback from stakeholder groups to drive product decisions.
- One year of experience defining and tracking KPIs and OKRs for technical products.
- One year of experience ensuring data governance and security compliance in ML platform and data product design.
- One year of experience communicating complex data with technical and non-technical audiences and stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
- One year of experience with Airflow, AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, GCP Vertex AI, Git, Jira, Kubeflow, MLflow, Power BI, SQL, and Tableau.
Responsibilities
- Conduct technical research with ML engineers and data scientists to identify bottlenecks across data ingestion, experimentation, deployment, and monitoring, and translate findings into product requirements.
- Develop and manage the ML platform roadmap in alignment with organizational objectives and OKRs.
- Drive execution through sprint and quarterly planning cycles.
- Define platform usability and integration requirements, including APIs, SDKs, and tools, to support adoption across data science and engineering teams.
- Ensure the platform complies with data governance and security standards.
- Establish and monitor platform KPIs, including training speed, deployment latency, reliability, and adoption metrics.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party solutions and identify emerging ML infrastructure trends to expand platform capabilities.
