About The Position

Cloudflare is seeking the first embedded Lead Product Designer for its Web Integrity & Trust product suite. This role is crucial as over 50% of Internet traffic is automated, and distinguishing between humans, agents, and malicious actors is a core strategy and value proposition for Cloudflare. With Cloudflare protecting over 20% of the web, it has a unique vantage point to detect automated threats at scale. The challenge lies in transforming this raw data into actionable insights for customers, ranging from security analysts to marketing teams. This role involves defining the user experience across the entire customer journey, from navigation and configuration to investigation and value demonstration. A key aspect of this position is envisioning a coherent product experience from currently disconnected components. This is a "0-to-1" opportunity to define the interaction model for a new suite of product categories, influencing not just the look and feel but the fundamental nature of the products.

Requirements

• A portfolio is required for this role, demonstrating how you think.
• Proven ability to take genuinely ambiguous, ill-defined problem spaces and define what the product should be.
• Experience making a complex, high-dimensional system legible to users in demanding fields (e.g., security, fraud, observability, developer tools, analytics, network operations, finance).
• Ability to go deep into a domain quickly.
• Fluent use of AI in your craft, with judgment on where it accelerates work and where it falls short.
• Independent design conviction and the ability to articulate why a design is right.
• Exceptional skills in interaction design, information architecture, and data visualization.
• Comfort with a blank page and setting your own process.
• Desire to obsess over a domain and push boundaries in a complex space.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as the first or founding designer on a team or product.
• Exposure to security, trust & safety, fraud / ad fraud (IVT), or ML-driven products.
• Comfort prototyping in code, or working fluently with engineers who do.
• Familiarity with how analysts or operations teams actually work day to day.

Responsibilities

• Own the problem of making probabilistic decisions in an adversarial environment legible and controllable to customers.
• Define the user experience across the full arc of how customers interact with the Web Integrity & Trust product suite, including navigation, configuration, exploration, investigation, and value demonstration.
• Envision and define a coherent product experience from currently disconnected components.
• Help define the interaction model for a suite of product categories that are largely being invented.
• Set your own process and build alongside peers and engineers as the first design lead.
