As a Product Manager at Grafana Labs, you will be responsible for developing product vision and strategy, owning the product roadmap, collateral, and market research, and collaborating with leadership to refine product goals. You will act as the primary advocate and expert for your product area, communicating effectively with both external customers and internal stakeholders. Given the 100% remote and globally distributed nature of the teams, strong and proactive communication is crucial. Product Managers serve as a liaison between Engineering, Design, and UX to Go-To-Market (GTM) teams, facilitating information flow and demonstrating technical proficiency when representing products to customers.

Requirements

  • A BS/BA in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in Product Management
  • 5+ years of experience in a B2B SaaS product
  • Experience using or building developer-facing tools, APIs, or platform services
  • Ability to discuss APIs, data models, schema evolution, and distributed systems concepts
  • Experience driving adoption of shared services or platform capabilities across multiple product teams
  • Experience working with Engineering and Design teams build delightful products and features – with sounds UX – in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with open source software and/or commercial open source companies
  • Experience using or building observability products and/or developer tools, either internally as an SRE or for external customers
  • Proficient with infrastructure concepts and components – like Kubernetes, Cloud Service Providers, and VMs – and able to articulate these models in human-readable terms
  • Experience with AI tools

Responsibilities

  • Develop a vision and strategy for your product domain.
  • Own your product’s roadmap, collateral, and market research.
  • Collaborate with Grafana leadership on fine-tuning your product’s goals.
  • Act as the primary advocate and expert in your area, with a strong ability to communicate needs, functionality, and details effectively both to external customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Transform ideas and feedback into a product vision and roadmap.
  • Empathize with customer problems in order to collect user needs, requirements, and pain points.
  • Curate and properly represent user feedback to Engineering, while providing evidence to support tradeoffs and priorities.
  • Work closely with PMM to enable GTM on product differentiation, including creating and updating presentations, documentation, website content, datasheets, and whitepapers.
  • Use your deep product expertise to make decisions about our go-to-market strategies, pricing, packaging, licensing and tiering.
