About The Position

Leads product strategy and execution for the organization's Epic electronic health record (EHR) platform and related clinical informatics tools. Owns the product lifecycle for Epic-integrated solutions from ideation through delivery, partnering with clinical, technical, and operational stakeholders to translate business and clinical needs into product requirements. Applies deep Epic platform expertise, user-centric design, and agile methodologies to drive adoption, quality, and safety across enterprise informatics initiatives to improve healthcare delivery for our patients. Defines product vision and strategy for Epic domain, focused on admission prevention and care coordination, through discovery, requirements definition, configuration, and enhancement of Epic and related informatics products and tools. Conducts user research with clinical and business stakeholders, collaborates with cross-functional and technical teams, designs workflows and user experiences, and oversees the product development lifecycle. Applies deep Epic expertise, agile methodologies, and informatics best practices to ensure Epic-based solutions meet clinical, operational, and end-user needs while driving business outcomes.

Requirements

  • 7–10 years of relevant work experience, including experience in product management and healthcare informatics or health IT product/project management.
  • Deep Epic expertise, including hands-on experience managing, configuring, or overseeing Epic software, modules, and tools within a healthcare enterprise.
  • Ability to deliver complex healthcare technology projects on time and within scope
  • Proven Leader: Comfortable driving strategic decisions, taking ownership, and coordinating resources to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Highly Collaborative: Excel at working with senior-level stakeholders and can translate complex technical topics for a variety of audiences in a matrixed environment

  • Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Rally, Lucid, MS Visio or similar tools

  • Operational or technical experience in care coordination, care continuum, or admission prevention
  • Comfort operating in a regulated environment with data privacy and compliance considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as the product owner for Epic and informatics solutions, understanding the clinical, operational, and competitive landscape to advance the organization's technical solutions to support healthcare delivery.
  • Owns the full product lifecycle for Epic-based tools and workflows, from gathering ideas through prototyping, build, testing, and go-live. This includes vendor evaluations for buy vs. build options.
  • Creates features, stories, and workflow designs for current and future Epic products based on clinical insights, stakeholder research, and Customer Experience (CX) needs.
  • Defines and drives execution pathways by translating strategic informatics goals into actionable product requirements and project plans, including milestones, deliverables, and dependencies across workstreams.
  • Partners with business, clinical, and operational teams to build a product vision, identify business and clinical value, and translate use cases and capabilities into clear, actionable product strategy that is tied to organizational objectives and OKRs.
  • Coordinates with technical partners across engineering, data science, integration, and architecture teams in a fast-paced, agile development process to enhance the organization's Epic ecosystem.
  • Develops and maintains risk and issue logs, identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across technical and operational domains, with clear escalation and resolution pathways.
  • Ensures workstream integration and alignment across clinical, technical, and operational groups, leading effective cross-functional meetings with clear agendas, follow-ups, and accountability.
  • Delivers executive-level reporting on product status, risks, and decisions needed, and builds strong relationships with key stakeholders across the enterprise.
  • Develops testing procedures and governance for onsite, monthly, and quarterly Epic assessments, with detailed documentation review.
  • Partners with training and change management teams to support readiness, adoption, and feedback loops for Epic-based product releases.
  • Supports approval of product iterations, schedules, releases, and roadmaps to maintain delivery speed and quality across Epic initiatives.
  • Support the domain leaders in recruiting, hiring, and developing product and informatics talent in a collaborative, fast-paced, global environment to instill industry-proven best practices.
