About The Position

Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology is a global organization focused on building and advancing the technological backbone for Disney’s media business. The team combines technology with creativity to create world-class products, enhance storytelling, and drive innovation and scalability. They work across The Walt Disney Company’s media portfolio, impacting millions globally through products like Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN. The Content Platforms & Operations team, specifically the Content Intelligence group, is looking for a Lead Product Manager to drive the evolution of Disney's media supply chain. This role involves defining and creating AI-assisted products and workflows for analyzing and enriching content catalogs. The Product Manager will bridge business stakeholders, data science, and engineering, guiding cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions within the media supply chain. This position is at the forefront of emerging technology, requiring collaboration across global teams to balance near-term business value with long-term strategic goals.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in product management.
  • Proven track record of managing complex platform products, enterprise systems, or digital workflows.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams (Engineering, QA, UX Design, Program Management) to deliver high-quality, scalable product releases under tight deadlines.
  • Strong technical baseline with an understanding of backend architectures, APIs, data flows, and modern development frameworks.
  • Exceptional ability to conduct workflow analyses, translate highly ambiguous business needs into clear product specifications/user stories, and prioritize backlogs based on business value (ROI).
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to 'storytell with data,' negotiate alignment among disparate stakeholders, and influence cross-team priorities.
  • Experience setting, tracking, and measuring product success through KPIs and OKRs, using quantitative and qualitative data to drive roadmap decisions.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as a squad leader, with experience providing informal guidance, coaching, or mentorship to junior Product Managers or cross-functional team members.
  • Practical experience working within Agile/Scrum environments, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and utilizing tools like Jira and Confluence.
  • High degree of autonomy with the proven ability to pivot quickly and effectively as business strategies and product priorities shift.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent practical experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Understanding of the media and entertainment industry, specifically regarding media supply chains, digital video pipelines, post-production, or television workflows.
  • Experience with (or strong conceptual knowledge of) AI tooling, machine learning models, computer vision, natural language processing, or automated quality control (QC) and localization systems.
  • A strong interest in, and enthusiasm for, Disney brands and the evolution of content experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for key products within the Content Intelligence portfolio.
  • Drive the long-term vision and roadmap based on product intuition and business goals.
  • Influence broader portfolio strategy and communicate vision to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Conduct deep-dive workflow and process analyses to understand operational needs.
  • Translate ambiguous business needs into clear product specifications leveraging emerging technology.
  • Partner with Engineering, QA, and Program Management to drive execution within an Agile framework.
  • Facilitate product reviews, draft user stories/acceptance criteria, and ensure timely releases.
  • Act as a leader within the squad, providing coaching and mentorship to peer or junior Product Managers.
  • Continuously improve internal and cross-team processes for optimized delivery.
  • Establish trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and peer platform teams.
  • Use data storytelling and negotiation to align cross-team priorities.
  • Collaborate across organizational boundaries for complex initiatives.
  • Define, track, and measure product impact using OKRs and KPIs.
  • Proactively research and propose new feature ideas, solutions, and proof of concepts.
  • Develop a deep understanding of underlying technologies, architectures, and data flows.
  • Partner with business units and client groups to ensure seamless user adoption.
